PersonalizedCat (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates personalizedcat.com (the “Site”). PersonalizedCat is run by Ivan Carlos Artiles Cruz, a sole trader based in Spain, who is responsible for your personal information (the data controller). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Order information: name, billing address, shipping address, email address and phone number.
- Payment information: processed directly by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Email for your preview: if you ask us to email you your blanket preview, your email address.
- Photographs and personalization details you upload or enter to customize a product — for example, a photo of your cat, a pet’s name, or text to be printed.
- Messages you send us by email or through our contact form.
- Reviews: if you choose to review a product, your star rating, what you write, any photos or videos you add, and the name you choose to show with it.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, referring site, and campaign information, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Shopping activity, such as products viewed, items added to a cart, checkout activity, and purchases, including product identifiers, order value, currency, and event time. When advertising tools are enabled, they may also collect browser and advertising identifiers and use contact information to match these events, as explained below.
- Whether you opened our emails, if you have subscribed to them.
Photos you upload — how we handle them
This matters more than anything else on this page, so we are explicit about it:
- We use your photo only to show you a preview of your design on the product page, to produce the item you order, and to show you a proof before we print it.
- Your photo is processed by our personalization platform. For our portrait products, an artificial intelligence image service converts it into the artwork style you selected. Our photo collages use your photos without processing them through an AI image service.
- We do not use facial recognition, analyze or store facial features as biometric data, or use your photos to identify anyone. For photo collages, each crop starts centered and you can adjust it yourself; we do not detect faces to position it.
- The finished artwork is sent to the print provider that manufactures your order.
- We do not sell your photos, and we never use your original photos in ads. We may show photos or videos of the finished products we make, for example a blanket with your cat’s portrait, on our website, in our emails and on social media, including ads. We never add your name, address or order details to them, and if your design shows a person, we ask you first. If you’d rather we didn’t feature your order, write to info@personalizedcat.com at any time: we will stop using it and take it down from the Site and our social media within 2 business days. Photos you choose to post with a product review are different: see “Reviews and review photos” below.
- We delete your photos and generated artwork 90 days after your order is delivered, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we need them to resolve an open claim. If an open claim requires us to keep them beyond 90 days, we keep only what is needed for that claim and delete it when the claim is resolved. Photos or videos of a finished product that we feature, as described above, are kept for as long as we use them.
- You can ask us to delete your photos and generated artwork at any time by writing to info@personalizedcat.com. If you ask before your order is complete, deletion may prevent us from completing it.
By uploading an image you confirm that it is yours or that you have permission to use it. If your photo includes people, you also confirm that you have permission from each person shown, or from their parent or legal guardian if they are a minor, to upload the photo and have us and our service providers use it to create and fulfill your order. See our Terms of Service.
Reviews and review photos
After your order is delivered, we may email you once to ask for a review. Every review request includes a link to stop them. Leaving a review is always optional, and so is adding photos or videos to it.
- What is public: your star rating, what you write, any photos or videos you add, and the name you choose on the review form (for example, your first name and last initial), or no name at all if you choose to post anonymously. Your email address and order details are never shown.
- What we keep: your review, its photos or videos, the name you chose, your email address, and a link to the order and product you reviewed, so we can mark reviews from real purchases and answer you if needed.
- Location and other hidden data: when you upload a photo or video with your review, we remove its location (GPS) information and other hidden details, such as the camera or phone model, before we store it.
- Who processes it: reviews are collected and stored by our own website, on our web host’s servers. We do not use an outside review service, and we do not send your review, photos or videos to the company that makes our review software. Review request emails are sent through our email provider.
- We check every review before it appears. We don’t publish reviews or photos that break the rules in our Terms of Service.
- How long we keep it: for as long as the review is published. If we don’t publish a review, we delete it, with its photos or videos, within 30 days.
- Removing your review: write to info@personalizedcat.com from the email address you used for your order. We will take the review or its photos off the Site within 2 business days and delete them within 30 days. We will also stop using them in our emails and social media. We can’t recall emails already sent or copies that other people have saved or shared.
Photos you post with a review are separate from the photos you upload to personalize an order: the 90-day deletion described above applies to your order photos, not to review photos you have chosen to publish.
Why we use your information
- To process, produce, ship and support your order.
- To send you order confirmations, proofs, shipping updates and replies to your questions.
- If you enter your email address at checkout and don’t complete your order, we may send you up to two reminder emails with a link back to your cart. Each one includes a link to stop them.
- If you ask for it, to email you your blanket preview and one reminder about it. These emails include a link to stop them, and we do not add you to a newsletter.
- To ask for a review of what you bought and, if you leave one, to publish it on the Site and share it in our own emails and social media, as described in “Reviews and review photos”.
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To improve the Site and our products.
- When advertising tools are enabled, to measure ad results, improve ad delivery, and create audiences for relevant ads, subject to your privacy choices.
- To send you marketing emails, only if you have opted in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Our legal bases
Because we are based in Spain, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to how we handle your information, wherever you live. We rely on:
- Contract: to take, make, ship and support your order, including the photos and details you give us for it.
- Legal obligation: to keep accounting and tax records.
- Legitimate interests: to prevent fraud, keep the Site secure and working, improve it, ask you once for a review of what you bought and, for visitors outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, measure and advertise our products. You can object at any time, including through Privacy choices.
- Consent: for marketing emails and, for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, for cookies that are not necessary for the Site to work. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
For advertising, we rely on your consent where required, including for Google Ads and for Meta Pixel and Conversions API events from visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. You can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, and only with:
- Payment processor, to take payment and prevent fraud.
- Print and fulfillment providers, to manufacture and ship your order — they receive your shipping address and the artwork file.
- Personalization and AI image services, to build and render your customized product.
- Email and analytics providers, to send transactional email and understand how the Site is used.
- Google, to show and measure our ads through Google Ads, as described below.
- Meta, when its advertising tools are enabled, to measure and personalize ads as described below.
- Authorities, when we are legally required to, or to protect our rights.
We do not exchange personal information for money. Through Google Ads, and through Meta advertising tools when they are enabled, we share information for cross-context behavioral advertising, subject to your privacy choices. This is “sharing” under the California CCPA/CPRA and may count as a “sale” or as “targeted advertising” under other state privacy laws. You can opt out as described in “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”.
Google Ads
We use Google Ads to show our products on Google and to measure whether our ads lead to visits and purchases. The Google Ads tag on the Site sends Google events such as page and product views, items added to a cart, and purchases, with product identifiers, order value and currency, the page URL, your IP address and browser information, and Google click and cookie identifiers.
We use these events to measure ad results and to show ads to people who have visited the Site. Google may connect them with information it already holds and use them under its own privacy policy; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We do not send Google your name, email address, phone number or postal address for advertising, and the photos, generated artwork and personalized text used to make an order are never part of these events. Your advertising opt-out and Global Privacy Control apply to these events. You can also manage ad personalization in My Ad Center.
Meta Pixel and Conversions API
When enabled, the Meta Pixel sends events from your browser, and the Conversions API sends events from our server, to Meta. Events may include page and product views, cart and checkout activity, and purchases; product identifiers, value and currency; event time and page URL; IP address, browser information, and Meta browser or click identifiers. Depending on the settings and information available, matching data may include your name, email address, phone number, city, state, ZIP code, country, and a customer identifier.
Contact and address fields used for matching are generally hashed before transmission. Hashing helps match records without sending those fields in their original form. It does not make the information anonymous. IP addresses, browser information, and event details may be sent without hashing.
We use these events to measure ad results, improve ad delivery, and create audiences for ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta may connect events with information it already holds and use them under its own privacy policy. Your consent, withdrawal, advertising opt-out, and Global Privacy Control choices apply to both browser and server advertising events. The photos, generated artwork, and personalized text used to make an order are not part of these events.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our product pages, for example where they tap, how far they scroll and where they stop, so we can make the Site easier to use. Clarity records these interactions in a pseudonymous way and uses cookies to recognize a returning browser. We mask the photos you upload, your cart and anything you type. The blanket preview we create for you, with your pet’s portrait and name, can appear in these recordings so we can see how the preview works. We do not use Clarity on the checkout, your proof or your account pages. Clarity runs only for visitors in the United States, and it stops if you opt out or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Microsoft processes this information as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the Site to work (your cart, your session, security), cookies that help us measure traffic through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, advertising cookies from Google Ads, and advertising cookies when Meta tracking is enabled. Google Ads cookies, such as _gcl_au, help measure ad results and show ads to people who have visited the Site. Meta cookies, such as _fbp and _fbc, help measure advertising and show ads based on activity across services. Some technologies, including the Conversions API, send information without setting a cookie.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, measurement and advertising cookies are used only with your consent. We do not ask for it, because we only sell to the United States, so we do not set those cookies for you. Google’s tags may still send limited signals without cookies, which Google uses for aggregated measurement.
For visitors in the United States and other countries, our privacy controls use an opt-out approach: optional technologies may run unless you turn them off, except where consent is required or an opt-out signal applies. Use Privacy choices to turn off advertising. To stop Google Analytics measurement, you can use Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Necessary cookies remain available for shopping, security, and remembering your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser; some parts of the Site may stop working correctly if you do.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To opt out of sale or sharing for advertising, including targeted advertising, use Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information or email info@personalizedcat.com. You do not need an account or identity verification to make a browser advertising opt-out.
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) as an opt-out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising for the browser that sends it. GPC takes priority over a conflicting advertising preference. These choices stop subsequent advertising events from the browser and our server. They do not undo information already sent.
Browser choices apply to that browser or device. If you clear its stored settings or use another browser or device, make the choice there too or keep GPC enabled. Email us if you want an opt-out associated with the customer information we hold. Turning off advertising sharing does not unsubscribe you from email; use the unsubscribe link or contact us for that.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Opt out of marketing email.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing, where applicable. Residents of other U.S. states may also have the right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable privacy laws.
Because we are based in Spain, you also have the rights given by the GDPR, wherever you live: to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es) or with the data protection authority where you live.
To exercise any of these, write to info@personalizedcat.com. We may need to verify your identity for access, correction, or deletion requests. Advertising opt-outs do not require an account or identity verification.
Keeping your information
Details from checkouts that aren’t completed are deleted within 30 days.
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Photos and previews from customizations that are not ordered, and preview email requests, are deleted within 30 days. We delete photos and generated artwork 90 days after your order is delivered, subject to earlier deletion requests and the open-claim exception described above. Published reviews and their photos are kept for as long as they are published, or until you ask us to remove them, as described in “Reviews and review photos”.
Security
We use HTTPS across the Site and work with providers that use recognized security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
International transfers
We are based in Spain. Some of our providers, such as our payment processor, our print and fulfillment providers, and our email and analytics providers, process your information in the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. When your information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, or the transfer is necessary to make and deliver your order.
Google, for our Google Ads and Google Analytics tags, Microsoft, for Clarity, and Meta, when its advertising tools are enabled, also process your information in the United States, subject to the safeguards described above.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Photos uploaded by adults may include children; the permission requirement above applies. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will say so on the Site.
